42 NCRPO personnel with administrative cases were dismissed

Story: 42 NCRPO personnel with administrative cases were dismissed

National Capital region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Geary Barias had ordered the dismissal of 42 PNP personnel who faced administrative cases.

Those who were dismissed were proven beyond reasonable doubt to have committed grave offenses or considered sensational cases.

He gave as an example PO2 Oliver Yumul and PO2 Ruben Baliong of Eastern Police District (EPD)were dismissed after they have been found guilty of planting evidence and brutalizing a victim. Another is PO1 Roal Sabiniano of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) dismissed for robbery extortion, act of lasciviousness and grave coercion.

Barias explained the NCRPO has resolved 1,188 admin cases compared to the 968 lat year. Aside from the 42 dismissed personnel there were 5 were demoted, 173 suspended, 266 forfeiture of salary, 79 reprimanded and another 79 were admonished, majority of which are minor offenses or internal discipline such as simple misconduct, negligence, insubordination, frequent absences and habitual drunkenness.

Of the 42 dismissed personnel, Barias said there is one senior in rank; he identified him as P/Supt. Jose Dayco of Southern Police District (SPD). Dayco together with SPO1 Francisco Tulang were dismissed for robbery and arbitrary detention filed by two employees of P.J. Lhuiller, Inc.

“These are all citizen’s complaint that was addressed to us. So, I am encouraging everybody to report to us those policemen who are maltreating them or doing illegal activities,” Barias said.

He also explained that he wants the cases to speed up as they do not want to have bad policemen on their ranks, “We learned that there are some cases that still pending for the last five years. We are now reviewing all this cases. I think we still have to resolve more than 1000 cases. We are still accounting.”

Barias said there were still about 1,000 administrative cases that that are still in pending and had ordered the regional summary officers to speed up their investigation of it.
