Story: Grenade found in front of the house of Sulu Mayor

A grenade was found in front of the house of Sulu mayor Tuesday morning, the police are now investigating the motive and who are the people behind the placing of the grenade.

According to Sr. Supt. Lumier Detran, Zamboanga City Police Director, the grenade was found right in front of the house of the Pangutaran, Sulu Mayor Ahmad Nano who is residing in Suterville Subdivision, Brgy. Calarian, Zamboanga City.

The grenade was found at around 6:00 am after the houseboy went outside to clean the front of the house. The grenade did not explode.

The Zamboanga City explosives and ordnance operatives recovered the grenade which they identified as PRB-type.

The police are investigating if the motive behind putting the grenade in front of the house of Nano is politically related.

The police will also take a look on the recent misunderstanding of Nano with Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan. Last Sunday, the two had a heated argument in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, after Nano did not inform the Governor that he was also in Manila.
