Story: Suspect in killing Japanese national in Cebu faces homicide case

The Compostela, Cebu police has filed the case against the suspect who killed a Japanese national last October 5.

The homicide case was filed against Christopher Tariman, at Provincial Prosecutor’s Office at the Cebu Provincial Capitol at around 9:00 am. The criminal case number is DU-16-546.

PO2 Erwin Valverde said that Tariman told them that he has no intention to shot the victim identified as Yasuaki Matsuura.

“His allegation is the gun belongs to the Japanese that is what we are trying to investigate as well on who really owns the gun. Tariman said there is a commotion between the two of them because the Japanese started to say bad words against him. He is claiming that he is on the defense,” Valverde said.

Tariman has killed Matsuura on the height of their argument with regards to the commissioned that Tariman should be getting for selling a taxi cab. Based on investigation, the taxi was sold to about Php310,000 and Tariman was about to get Php10,000.

The incident occurred at the kitchen of the house of the suspect in Little Marikina, Sitio Lutao, Barangay Estaca, Compostela, Cebu.
