Story 3: two hijackers arrested by the PNP

Two out of six hijackers were arrested by the police authorities after they hijacked Php1.5 million worth of milk in Pasig City.

Based on the story of the driver and the helper, armed men on board a white Isuzu Crosswind hijacked their Isuzu Trailer Truck with a container van loaded with (1,100) boxes of Angel Brand Condensed Milk along C-5 Road, Ortigas Extn., Rosario, Pasig City at about 12:30 in the early morning of October 28, 2008.

It was supposed to be delivered to Snowmountain Dairy Corporation with office address at No. 45 A. Rodriguez Ave., Asphaltrade Compound, Manggahan, Pasig City but it never arrived there.

The driver identified as Hilario Blanco of Vitas Tondo, Manila and the helper as Larry Lambinicio of Herbosa St., Tondo, Manila, respectively and formally reported the matter. They went to the office of the HPG at around 5:30 pm of October 28, together with the Snow Mountain Security Manager, Sean Arriola.

The driver and the helper said that they were hogtied and blindfolded at gunpoint by three (3) armed men who blocked them with a white Isuzu crosswind and dumped them along Concepcion, Brgy. San Isidro, Cainta Rizal. The two were interrogated separately and noticed that they have conflicting statements on how they were blocked.

“According to the driver (Blanco) they tried to oppose what the hijackers wanted, but according to the helper (Lambinicio) they just follow the instructions of the hijackers,” HPG Spokesperson Supt. Edwin Butacan said.

Then when he was asked again, Blanco admitted that he was part of the group who planned to hijacked the truck that he is driving. He was offered by his neighbour identified only as Danilo Batan to sell the cargoes. And together with six (6) others, they agreed to plan the said “hijacking”.

At about 6:00AM of October 29, 2008, Batan was arrested at the compound of Maabilidad Inc. owned and managed by a certain Ronald Lim which he leased from EANCRA Corp located at Purok 1 East Bank Road, Floodway, Brgy Sta. Lucia, Pasig City. They also recovered the boxes of milk at the said place.

Both Batan and Blanco is now under the custody of HPG and facing highway robbery case.
