The police authorities in North Cotabato had filed 23 additional cases against Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) 105th base Commander Ameril Umbra Kato.

This was confirmed by Insp. Orlando Panzo, Chief of Police of Aleosan. The cases that were filed are robbery in band, murder, murder, malicious mischief and arson.

“Many victims are still coming up and express their intention to file a case against Kato and his followers because of what they did to them,” Panzo said.

The cases were filed in North Cotabato Provincial Prosecutors Office in Kidapawan. It can be recalled that only last September 3, 2008 a total of 110 cases were already filed against Kato.

Meanwhile, Panzo said that they receiving information that the MILF will attack again at North Cotabato after the season of Ramadan which is also known as Hari Raya Puasa. The end of Ramadan might end on September 29.

Panzo said, only last Thursday, while patrolling, policemen saw some 200 rebels but there was no encounter happened.

“They can attack us anytime, that is why we are preparing,” Panzo said. Also, he said that there are about 500 policemen and military that is now securing the province of Aleosan.
