4 quakes felt in Mindoro

Story: 4 quakes felt in Mindoro

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) has monitored an intensity of 5.3 magnitude of earthquake. Its epicentre was in the eastern part of Mindoro, in Mamburao particularly.

According to Vilma Hernandez of Philvolcs, the quake is tectonic and at offshore, “rocks under the sea colliding with each other.”

The first quake was felt at around 11:04 am, September 27, with 5.3 intensity and 81 km deep under the sea.

The next one was about 11:09 am, with 6.5 intensity, it was stronger than the first one with 107 km deep. During around this time, the quake was also felt in Manila, Makati and Quezon City with intensity 3.

Then at around 2:40 pm, an aftershock was felt in Calapan, Mindoro, with intensity 3, and with 92 km deep.

Then another quake was felt at around 2:56 pm also in Calapan with intensity 3 again also in Calapan, Mindoro.

No one were injured or died on the said quake. There were no reported damages also.
