Story: Japanese national arrested in NAIA for bringing live ammunitions and illegal drugs

A Japanese national was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Wednesday noontime, for transporting live ammunitions and suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as shabu.

The Japanese was identified as Reisuke Hayashi, 42, bound for Narita, Chiba, Japan. He came in the Philippines as tourist only last September 12.

Chief Supt. Atalino Morada of PNP Aviation security group said Hayashi was arrested at the airport’s security checkpoint 1 after his bag was scanned in the x-ray machine and saw the bullets their.

“After seeing it, our security asked him to open his luggage then they saw the 13 from bullets calibre .25 inserted in an ashtray,” Morada explained.

He added that at the bottom of the ashtray, the suspect intended to put holes around it where the bullets has been placed, then at the middle of it there is another hole where the 9 sachets of suspected shabu.
