Story: Municipal hall in Pangasinan, totally gutted by fire

A municipal hall in one of the towns in Pangasinan was gutted by fire for almost 5 hour, early in the morning of September 15, Monday.

The fire started at around 1:40 am at the session hall which is located at the second floor of the Calasiao Municipal Hall. The municipal hall is located at Barangay Poblacion West, Calasiao, Pangasinan.

They were only able to fire it out around 5:20 pm. According to SFO1 Conrado Roy, firemen from nearby municipalities already responded to help them in putting out the fire.

But, the fire were not be able to contained easily because the fire easily spread and hall was only made from very old wood.

Roy said estimated damages was about Php100 million.

No one was reported casualty on the incident, but fire fighter SFO3 Jose Carinio sustained minor bruises and suffer from suffocation because of the thick smoke. Carinio was brought to Villaflor Hospital also in Calasiao and already in stable condition.

Roy said that they are still investigating the mater but for now they are only looking for faulty electrical wiring as the cause of the fire because the building is made from old wood and fire can easily spread on that kind of wood. But the fire authority said that they will also consider other angle.
