Story: 39 dead, 76 rescued in sunken ferry in Masbate

Sr. Supt. Rueben Theodore Sindac, Provincial Director of Masbate Provincial Police Office confirms that a ferry sank in Dimasalang, Masbate.

The ferry named Don Alexander Cathlyn was about to go to Bulan, Sorosogon when it sank five kilometres away from the shoreline of Dimasalang, Masbate at vicinity of barangay Magcaragit due to strong winds at around 1:00 pm, November 4.

On the manifesto, 119 passengers are listed.

The rescuers were able to rescue 76 people, recover 39 dead bodies and 10 are reportedly missing.

The 39 bodies are presently at the Dimasalang Pier for proper identification of the bodies.
