Story: Two dead, one in critical condition after a truck fell in a ravine in Benguet

Another tragic road accident occurred which lead to the death of two people and seriously wounding an individual when an 18-wheeler truck that they are riding fell in a ravine in Benguet.

The incident happened at around 10:05 pm of Sunday, November 23, along Baguio-Vizcaya national highway in Sitio Bingo, Barangay Loacan, Itogon (municipality), Benguet.

According to SPO3 Rodrigo Angeles investigator at Itogon Police Station, the truck has experienced mechanical problem that loose the break of the truck then fell in about 130 feet ravine.

The victims who were dead on the spot were identified as Lino Ejorcadas, 40, resident of Taguig and Reynaldo Galangue, 49, resident of Tondo, Manila. Ejorcadas is the driver of the truck while Galangue is one of his helpers.

The other victim is identified as Richard Adlawan, 21, helper, resident of Quezon City, was in critical condition after he sustained fractured bones on both of his feet. Angeles said, Adlawan jumped from the truck when they were about to fall at the ravine. He is now confined at Baguio General Hospital.

Angeles described the trailer truck carrying two container vans about 20-feet long. The said container vans were supposed to be delivered at Ambuclao Dam which is located in Bucod, another municipality of Benguet.

The container vans will be used as office room.

Angeles said, Ejorcadas and Galangue died because they were crushed by the container vans. The investigator added that when the truck fell, the container vans were removed at the truck and it fell at the bumper of the truck which hit Ejorcadas and Galangue.
