Story: 10 Koreans killed in a road accident in Pangasinan

Ten Koreans, two of them were already living in the Philippines, met a tragic accident in the province of Pangasinan, Wednesday noon, August 27.

The incident occured at around 12:15 pm and the victims were about to go to STL Garden Resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan. The victims came from Baguio City where they stayed for a while.

Eight of the Koreans arrived in Baguio last August 25.

On ten Koreans that were killed 6 of them were male and 4 were female including a six year old child.

They were identified as Lee In Chul, 47, male; their driver and guide on that day Lee Su Gun, 53, male; Park Sung Don 48, male; Jung Jung He, 46, female: Park Bo Hua 6, female; Han Seung Ho, 52, female; Kwak Dyung Bae 33, male; Park Tae Sung, 38, male; Choi Mi Kyung, 36, female and Park Su Jin, 53, male.

Two of those mentioned are already residing in the in Baguio City for almost two years, they are Lee In Chul and Lee Su Gun. They are living in Barangay Camp 7 and Scout barrio respectively.

According to Sr. Supt. Isagani Neres, Pangasinan Provincial police Office Provincial Director, the Koreans are only here for a vacation and to visit some places in the Philippines.

The victims were riding in a Hyundai van (RBN-423) being driven by Lee Su Gun who know the way and even a regular visitor of STL Garden Resort. But upon reaching Barangay Sampaloc, Bolinao, Pangasinan they are speeding fast and lost control.

They even went on the opposite lane then bumped in to the concrete wall of RM Construction Supply which is approximately 15 meters away from the lane where the van came from.

Neres added that the vehicle was totally destroyed and it shows an indication that the van several times on the wall.

He added that they coordinated with the Korean Association living in Baguio City who positively identified the victims.
