Story 3: three dead in a road mishap in Cebu province

Three people were instantly killed after the jeep that they are riding fell into a ravine about 50-feet high.

The incident occurred at barangay Upper Bayran, Naga City, Cebu province last August 12, at around 1:00 pm. The said jeepney (GLV-114) was about to attend a funeral in San Fernando City, Cebu province.

The jeepney were overloaded that cause for it to fall in a ravine. The driver of the jeepney was identified as Mansuete Bidiot, 56 years old.

The driver told the police that they are already at the upper part of the road and he has to accelerate his gas but he did not able to control it then they fell in the ravine. When they fall three were instantly died because of the injuries they suffered while 12 others were injured.

The road were also slippery that time.

Those casualties were identified as Ricarda Haying and Abundia Repeso, 50, and Genia Jimenez
who were dead on arrival at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The jeep has 30 passengers wherein it could only accommodate 16 passengers. The driver is now detained in Naga Police Station in the province of Cebu and will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide.
