Story: Two injured after their truck was shot several times in Pasay City

A couple was hurt after they were shot by still unidentified men who blocked their route on their way home.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 am, August 25, 2008, the couple was identified as Max Acosta and Zenaida Acosta, was riding on their Isuzu Elf truck (WNG 768), on their way to their home in Gathchalian, Las Pinas City.

The shooting incident happened along F.B. Harrison Street, about 10 meters away from Pasay City Hall. According to PO2 Marianito Agat, officer-on-case, the 4 suspects who are all riding in two separate motorcycles came from the behind of the victims’ truck.

The suspects overtake on them, went on the front of the truck, blocked their way and suddenly shot Max who sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body including left chest. While his wife, Zenaida sustained gunshot wound on his left shoulder. After shooting them, the suspects immediately fled away.

Even if wounded, Max tried to drive the truck going to Pasay Police Station to report the incident, which is located at the back of the Pasay City Hall also in F.B. Harrison Street. Due to the gunshot on his left chest, he lost control while driving and slammed their vehicle in a lamppost in front of Pasay City Hall.

The victims came from Pasay Public Market where they are selling meat are now in San Juan De Dios Hospital.

Zenaida was already declared out of danger while her husband Max still in critical condition and undergoing operation.

Agat said the gun that was used to the victims is .45 caliber.
