Story 1: 2 dead 27 injured in a vehicular accident in Laguna

Two passengers died and 27 others were injured after the bus that they are rinding fell off the ravine at South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Barangay San Vicente, San Pedro Laguna at around 12:00 midnight of May 18.

PO3 Bernard Navarro, officer-on-case said, the two involved vehicles in the vehicular accident were a 10-wheeler truck (WTE-458) and a passenger bus of Jac Liner transit (PWN-559) with route of Lucena to Manila and vice-versa.

The two vehicles were bound to Manila.

Navarro said it seems that the truck is speeding against the bus, “While it was speeding it hit the left side of the bus then the bus retaliate. Then the truck lost its control hit the bus again, then the bus fell off already.”

The bus fell in a 15 feet ravine. Two were declared dead on the spot were Asuncion Clemente and Wilson Tanigue due to the fractures they sustained. Those who were injured were brought in Public Care Hospital, and in Evangelista Medical Specialty Hospital for medical treatment and observation.

Among those who were injured are the two drivers Florencio Oliveros of the bus and Avelino Maralit of the truck. The two drivers will be charged of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and multiple physical injuries.
