Story 1: Vice-Mayor in Iloilo town gunned down

A vice-mayor in a town of Ajuy in Iloilo was gunned down Thursday morning, police official said.

The victim was identified as Ramon Rojas, 50, the current vice-mayor of Ajuy, Iloilo was gunned down at around 5:30 am at Sitio Casamata, Barangay Central, Ajuy, Iloilo.

According to Supt. Ruperto Floro, Chief of Regional Operations and Planning Divisions of Police Regional 6, the place of incident is a National Highway. “He was also with Poblacion barangay Captain Armando Nacional. It is their daily routine to jog every morning.”

The victim was shot by two unidentified male suspects, both riding in one motorcycle, a Honda XRM which stopped in front of Nacional and Rojas. Nacional was not hit.

Rojas sustained four gunshot wounds, two of which on his head and the other two were on his body, he was dead on the spot.
