Story 3: four suspected criminals got killed in an encounter in Tanauan Batangas

Four suspected robbers got killed in two different encounter in Tanauan City, Batangas, police official said.

The first encounter happened at around at 4:20 pm at Barangay 4, Tanauan City, Batangas. Batangas Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director David Quimio said that they received reports from intelligence about the presence of the suspected criminals at the said Barangay.

The Task Force RCBC together with other policemen of Batangas PPO conducted an operations where they had an encounter with the suspected criminals.

On the said first encounter, it lead to the killing of man named Pepito Magsino a suspected member of Landico-Javier-Galica gang and wounding SPO1 Reynaldo Salazar who is now in critical condition at St. Cabrini Medical Center in Sto. Tomas Batangas. “The Landico-Javier-Galica gang is a group in Batangas responsible on some cases of robbery, hold-up, kidnap for ransom and illegal drug trafficking,” Quimio said.

Recovered on the crime scene one spent shell for .38; 14 spent shells for caliber 5.56 and three spent shells for .45.

The second encounter happened at around 12:40 am of May 22. The second encounter was due to the pursuant operations and monitoring of the policemen at the suspected criminals.

The Task Force RCBC are also included in the operations. Quimio said the task force RCBC are included in the operations for the possibility of tracking down those who were responsible on RCBC Cabuyao massacre.


The second operation happened at barangay Pagspas, Tanuan City, Batangas.The Tanuan Police received reports that some members involved in the encounter of May 21 aftrenoon were seen at Barangay Pagaspas.

Again, the elements of police made follow-up operations and surveillance at the area. On the said surveillance policemen heard gunshot on the area, then the encounter happened resulted to the death of three others.

Those who were died were identified as former Pagaspas Barangay Chairman Vivencio Javier , 55, Angelito Malabanan, 30, Rolly Lachica, 50

Recovered from the crime scene one Glock 17; 9mm. Pistol; one magazine, seven live ammunition, one Winchester rifle, one hand grenade, nine fired cartridge case of 9mm caliber one live ammunition of 9mm caliber seven fired cartridge from cal 5.58.

Quimio said they can still not rule out that the four that were killed are not the ones responsible for the RCBC incident because they are well-known for robbery, hold-up and even kidnap for ransom.

However, Regional Director for Region 4a, Chief Supt. Ricardo Padilla said they will have to confirm if the killed alleged criminals were the responsible for RCBC Cabuyao Massacre.
