Story: Lone survivor in Cabuyao bank massacre died Sunday morning


The only witness that the Philippine National Police expecting to shed light in the bank robbery and massacre incident in Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) in Cabuyao, Laguna died Sunday morning.


Cabuyao Police Station PO1 Anastacio Motas confirm that RCBC Cabuyao Branch Relations manager Isagani Pastor deaclared dead by attending physician Dr. Edwin Lipidario at around 10:50 am. He was confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of St. James Hospital in Laguna.


“When we arrived at the crime scene he was already unconscious then until we brought him to the hospital. He was also shot at the head,” Motas said explaining that the authority did not able to get any details from him with regards to the incident at the RCBC.


Motas also said that the two security guards that were allegedly missing when the incident happened already showed up to them on Friday. They are Regidor Sapon and Joel dela Cruz. Mota said that the two are under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of Region 4A CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).


SPO4 Larry Gayatan, duty officer at the CIDG Region 4A, confirms in a phone interview that the two security guards are indeedn with them and will be under further investigation.


Meanwhile, PNP Chief Avelino Razon instructed all PNP Regional Directors to provide all available assistance to PRO CALABARZON in the manhunt operation for the suspects.


Also, the Chief of Police of Cabuyao Laguna Supt. Moises Pagaduan, was relived from his post, he was assigned in Regional Headquarters of Region 4A. He will be replaced by Chief Inspector Wenceslao Anore as officer-in-charge of Cabuyao Police Station.
