Story: militant leader killed in Davao City

An officer of a farmer militant group in Davao City was gunned down by still unidentified suspects Thursday morning around 6:00, police said.

The incident took place at Bugac, Barangay Ma-a, Davao City. The victim was identified as Celso Pojas, 45 known as Secretary General of Farmers Association of Davao City.

In the report of PO1 JimmyMolit of Davao City Police, Pojas was about to buy a cigarette at the front of Farmer Center Office where he stayed for overnight.

When Pojas was about to go back to Farmer Center office, two unidentified male persons appeared at the vicinity riding a motorcycle, then shot the victim three times.

According to the report, Pojas still managed to run for about 30 meters from the store back to the farmer Center. He managed to reach the front gate of the Farmer Center, but fell on the ground. He was declared dead on the spot.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds; one on his right ribs, one on his left ribs and one in his left forearm.

The incident still under investigation by the Davao City Police for the possible motive of the incident.
