Story: Boy died in a vehicular accident in Bulacan

A seven year old boy died due to the multiple collision in North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Bulacan area.

The incident happened at Barangay Ligtong, Meycauayan Bulacan along NLEX. The vehicles involved is a Mersan Bus Transit (TWB 736) who bumped the Nissan Escapade (RGD 280) in front of it at around 6:45 pm, June 5, 2008.

The collision between the bus and the Nissan Escape cause domino effect in other vehicles in front the Escape which were (in order) four-wheeler Elf (UDW 201), Tamaraw FX (UUB 960), Lexus Grande (ZGE-519), Adventure (XJW-834), Nissan Largo (RFF 677), Mazda 323 (UEM 576), Toyota Avanza (ZGN 263), two jeepneys (PFY 551) and (TGJ 384)

The route of the bus is from Sta. Cruz, Manila to Sapangpalay, Bulacan.

According to PO3 Nick Aspeli, officer on-case, the bus experienced mechanical disfunction. And lost its break while transversing in NLEX.

The accident caused to the death of a seven year old boy identified as Ezekiel Salazar, riding in the Nissan Escape. His father and brother identified as John Roland Salazar, 15, and Roland Salazar, 39, respectively was badly hurt.

The others who were injured were Leonard Arceo, and Melissa Rico Hermoso,both passengers of the bus. They only sustained bruises.

The Meycauayan Police, had already filed charges against the driver of the bus identified as Joseph Rayo, 27. The driver is now facing reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, multiple injuries and damage to property.
