Story: four killed in a fire in Las Pinas City

Four people got killed including a one year old baby girl when a house in Las Pinas City was razed by fire predawn.

The fire happened in one house with 11 rooms for rent in Balikatan St. Barangay CAA, Las Pinas City owned by certain Mr. Alexander Montera. The fire started at around 1:12 am to 2:20 am which only reached first alarm.

According to Las Pinas Fire Chief Robert Pasiz, the four got killed because they were not able to go out of their house due to the thick smoke. Those who were killed were identified as Romel Baro, 45; his wife Pia, 40 and their one year old daughter Leonora; and Rowena Rebadola, 40, living in the nearby room.

The origin of the fire is at the ground floor of the house near the kitchen area. The cause of the fire still unknown, but base on the information they gather, it could be faulty electrical wiring.

Pasiz said the fire easily spread because the house were made of plywood only and not concrete one. The house estimated about 200-250 sq. m. Estimated damages about Php500,000.
