Station Commander of Manila Coast Guard was relieved from his post as the investigation on the capsized M/V Princess of the Stars starts.

Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Vice Admiral Wilfredo Tamayo order for the relive of Commander Erwin Balagas, the station commander of Manila Coast Guard.

PCG Commodore for National Capital Region (NCR) Luis Tuason confirmed this and said that not because he is relieve, it does not mean that he has a fault on the sinking of the vessel.

“He was relieved because to avoid the possibility of affecting the investigation, because the vessel came from Manila when it boarded, and he is the commander in Manila,” Tuason said.
