Story: PNP invites negotiators in kidnapping for questioning

The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detective Management Group (PNP-CIDG) invites father-and-son Isnaji for questioning on their role in relation to the kidnapping incident of ABS-CBN news team.

But the PNP is quick to say that Indana, Sulu mayor Alvarez Isnaji and his son Jun is not considered as suspects, but someone who can shed light on what transpire on the negotiations.

CIDG Director Raul Castaneda confirms that they invited the two Isnaji’s for questioning. The two arrived in Manila at around 9:00 am all the way from Zamboanga.

Based on reports, Alvarez Isnaji was requested by the kidnappers to be the negotiator.

The CIDG will ask Isnaji on how did they handle the negotiations and how did they communicate with them. Castaneda said that they want to get clear information on what is happening during that time because Isnaji is the one in contacts with the kidnappers.

The CIDG said inviting the negotiators is part of their standard operation procedure to debrief individuals who participated in the negotiation for the release of the kidnap victims. They can help I identifying the kidnappers for filing of charges
