Story: Two suspected robbers killed in shootout in Makati

Two suspected robbers got killed in a shooting encounter in Makati City, June 17, at around 12:00 noon.

The incident took place at along Gil Puyat Avenue in front of Caltex gas station. The suspects were about six are all riding in tandem in motorcycles in three motorcycles.

On the initial investigation received by Makati Police the suspects has just robbed two people who withdraw money from Metrobank Dian branch. The bank clients withdrew an amount of Php2.7Million. The victims were already riding a car when 4 armed men blocked their way and shoot the tire of the car and the back side of it.

The suspects forcibly open the door and took the bag containing the money. The suspects fled and upon reaching the front of Caltex gas station, the Makati Anti- Crime Unit were conducting patrol at the area fired by the suspects and the Anti-Crime Unit engaged in a firefight which caused to the death of two of the suspects.

The two suspects were identified as Eric Pacarat and Antonio Perez Antoque Jr are both riding in one motorcycle. The rest of the suspects managed to escape.

PO2 Tony Pidang sustained gunshot wound on his leg and was rushed to Makati Medical Center for medical treatment.The case still under investigation as of press time.
