Story: PNP offers NFA rice for their personnel

The Philippine National Police is now selling NFA rice for the benefit of their own personnel.

According to Police Community Relation Director Leopoldo Bataoil, the NFA started delivering sacks of rice since last week, May 30, 2008. “Every week the NFA will deliver 25 sacks of rice and we will sell it to our policemen,” he said.

The rice will also be sold at Php18.25 per kilo, the family of a policeman can buy the said rice up to five kilos every time they will buy for the day itself.
The rice is available at the PNP Service Store also inside Camp Crame, according to retired Chief Supt. Jose Salvacion, Administrator of the service store, they are doing this so that their police personnel, both active and retired can avail of the cheaper rice.

In order for the policemen to be able to buy the said rice, they should apply for ration card with processing fee of Php100.

The ration card will serve as basis that they are allowed to buy rice on the PNP service store and it will be recorded there if they already bought the rice or not.

Salvacion added that all PNP personnel assigned inside or outside Cam Crame can avail the cheap rice.In able for the PNP to sell rice, Salvacion said they applied at the NFA to be authorized in selling.

Also, in line with the upcoming opening of the school, the service store is also offering tax subsidized school supplies like notebooks, pad papers, school bags, crayons, pens, pencils and others alike. The schools supplies is said to be cheaper by Php5 to Php10.
