Story 2:Explosives found along the highway of Zamboanga City
An improvise explosive device was found along the highway of Zamboanga City early morning of Friday July 4, 2008.
According to Police Regional Director Sr. Supt. Jose Bayani Gucela, the explosives found by a resident along Mercedes Highway at around 6:15 am and reported on a police because the explosives where inside two 1.5 liter soft drinks bottle.
Gucela said the explosives is an ammonium nitrate or the one being used for dynamite fishing. He also said that they do not know the motive yet and who are the responsible for putting the explosives there.
However, he also added that the explosive will not explode because there are no power source or explosive tray that can help detonate it.
The place where the explosives were found is a not highly populated area, and the source of income of people there were agriculture.
