Story 1: Police gunned down in Bulacan


A police officer was gunned down in Bulacan was believed to be work related, police said.

The victim was identified as SPO1 Djelmar Alba, 38 and assigned at the Intelligence Unit of Bulacan Provincial Office was gunned down at around 8:30 pm of July 13, 2008 at Barangay San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan.

The victim was on his way home in Baliuag, Bulacan riding in his color blue motorcycle (EI-3383) when the suspects, about seven of them, on board of a Toyota Revo came from his back and shot the victim several times. Alba was wearing a helmet during that time. He sustained gun shot wounds on his body.

The victim fell down from his motorcycle, and when he was already lying on the floor, three of the suspects get off their vehicle and shot the victim again to sure of his death.

According to the report of the officer-on-case PO3 Bienvenido del Rosario the suspects was believed to members of “Apeng Group” a robbery hold-up group in Bulacan.

“The killing of Alba may be work related because he is with the Intelligence unit and he worked on different cases as well, we are now investigating if Alba is investigating a case which has something to do with the group that led to his death,” del Rosario said.

Investigator added that they are now conducting manhunt operation on the suspects. What they know is the group is being led by a certain Ruperto Santos of San Ildelfonso, Bulacan.

Recovered from the crime scene, 17 empty shells of M-16 rifle.
