Story 2: NPA attacked police station in Davao Oriental

Around 40 rebels believed to be members of New People’s Army (NPA) attacked a police station in Davao oriental.

The incident occurred at around 8:45 am when the rebels acted as protesters complete with placards. They are on board in an elf truck.

Upon reaching the front gate of the banay-Banay Municipal police Station. The rebels started to fire at the police station went inside the station and disarmed the five on duty policemen.

The rebels also ransacked the armory of the station and able to get 3 M-16 rifle and the service firearm of the five policemen. On of the policemen was injured during the incident. The name of the injured personnel is not yet available as of the presstime. The communication lines in banay-banay police Station was damaged when the rebels attacked.

The rebels immediately escaped using the same vehicle which is the elf truck and went towards barangay Mahayag, Banay-banay.

Lt. Col Romeo Brawner, Spokesman of the Philippine Army said that the troops of 67 Infantry battalion already launched pursuit operations against the rebels.
