Story 1: two hurt in a shooting incident in Taguig

Two security guards suffered from gunshot wounds after the robbers fired at them at the side of the mall in Taguig City.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 am outside the Market! Market! Mall in Fort Bonifacio Taguig City.

According to some witnesses, there were about 10 suspects who arrive at the area and started to fire their guns directly to the security guards. The firing of guns lasted for five minutes.

Fruit vendor who do not want to be identified, said he saw one van with 6 men riding on it, “All of them went down, two of them shot the guards immediately, and some of them went immediately to the armored van to get the money in duffel bags.”

According to a flower vendor, aside from the van, she saw about 4 motorcycles following the van, “ On each motorcycle, there is only one rider wearing black jacket, following the van when it left already.”

The vendors also added that one of the suspects approached the armored van and drive it away from the place followed by the van and those who are in motorcycles.

Ruben Garcia, 27, vendor in one of the food chains at the Market! Market! near the ATM machine said that they all heard the sound of the guns, “all of the people here ran for their lives because all of us were afraid that we might be gunned by the suspects.” he said he hide on the store where he is working and some of the people hide at their store and at the store nearby.

He added no one from the customers or shoppers at the area where hurt during the incident only the two guards.

Edwin Penales, guard on duty at the open parking lot of the mall said that he only heard of the gunshots responded immediately on the crime scene together with other guards, but they did not saw the suspects anymore but saw there co worker lying down on the floor with blood.

Penales identified the guard as Rene Boy Pader, who suffered gunshot wounds on his left shoulder, left leg and right hand.

The other victim was identified as Samuel Cacho by Chief Inspector Eufronio Obong, Chief of Taguig Investigation. He said Cacho is the guard of China Bank assigned on the armored van.

Cacho suffered from gunshot wounds on his back and on his right shoulder.

The armored van were recovered at Kalayaan Avenue, and believed that all of its money with Php3 million was seized by the suspects.
