About 20 houses beside the mall that were razed by fire last July 17, 2008 were also burned due to “glowing embers” on predawn of July 18, 2008.

At around 3:40 am, the houses started to be burned, according to FO3 Renato Recto residues from Puregold mall that were burned on July 17 went at the back of the said mall which cause to ignite. The back of the mall has some houses on it and all were made of light material.

The houses were located at 2541 Seladona Street, Pasay city. Estimated damages reached to Php500,000.

The Puregold mall started to be gutted by fire at around 2:52 am and was only declared fire out at around 9:00 pm of July 17, 2008. Then at around 3:40 am of July 18, the houses at the back of the mall were burned.

Puregold is located along Taft Avenue of Libertad, Pasay, in front of LRT Libertad station. Estimaed damages on Puregold, is about Php50 million.

The fire was declared as fire out at around 5:57 am and reached on task Force Bravo. Recto said the fire reached task force Bravo so that other fire districts may be able to respond on the fire to help the Pasay fire and to avoid firing anew the mall.

No one was reported injured on the fire at the houses.
